Late Winter Community Events near High Point

There are plenty of exciting activities to participate in if you live in or near the High Point area. Add some of these events to your February and March calendar.

High Point Community Theatre

This winter, High Point Community Theatre is performing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a musical adaptation of the 1988 comedy film by that name. Performance dates run Feb. 21-24. Advance tickets cost $20 for adults.

Mardi Gras Masquerade

Castle McCulloch in nearby Jamestown will be hosting its annual Mardi Gras event. The party will take place Saturday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. Guests must wear a mask and must be at least 21 years old to attend. Tickets start at $24 per person.

Greensboro Opera

The Greensboro Opera will be performing Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel at High Point University Friday, March 1, and Sunday, March 3. Call the Campus Concierge at 336-841-4636 to reserve tickets.

First Friday

On Friday, March 1, come to Uptowne High Point to enjoy First Friday. There will be plenty of local vendors and stores with extended hours. The event runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. It’s a great way to discover new favorite dining and shopping places.

Instrumental Kaleidoscope Concert

The High Point University instrumental ensembles will be performing a group concert featuring small and large ensembles. Musical selections will span a spectrum of musical styles. This free concert takes place March 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

Rhythm of the Dance

Witness live Irish dancing just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. This critically-acclaimed show is coming to the High Point Theatre on March 19. Tickets start at $25.

Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival

Mentally transport yourself to international destinations without leaving your seat when you attend High Point Theatre on March 24 at 7 p.m. Tickets for this exciting film event cost $15.
